Google confirmed a new “Collected Info” tab is rolling out inside the Google Business Profile dashboard. It shows exactly what Google gathered about your business from automated phone or text verification calls, where that information came from, and gives you a one-click way to delete anything that is wrong. If your listing has ever quietly changed a detail like your hours, parking, or whether you take walk-ins, this is where that came from, and now you can see it and undo it.
What actually happened?
Google has been using automated calls and texts to the verified phone number on a Business Profile to confirm operational details: curbside pickup, dedicated parking, walk-in availability, that kind of thing. Business owners on the receiving end often had no idea why Google was calling, or what happened to the answer after they gave it.
Google’s own help documentation now describes a fix: go to Edit Profile, then “Collected Info,” and you get a list of what was collected, the source (which call or message), and the date. If an entry is wrong, click Delete to remove it from Search and Maps. Google documents the feature directly in its Business Profile help center, and Search Engine Roundtable independently confirmed the dashboard tab with screenshots on July 13, 2026.
The rollout is not universal yet. Google’s language (“may be available”) suggests a staged release by region and category, which matches the usual pattern for Business Profile dashboard features. If you do not see the tab yet, that is normal, not a sign anything is broken on your end.
What this means for Georgian Bay businesses
If you run a plumbing, HVAC, roofing, or cottage-service business around Collingwood, Blue Mountain, or Owen Sound, there is a real chance Google has called your listed number at some point to “verify” a detail, and that answer is sitting in your profile right now without you having reviewed it. Wrong info collected this way can misrepresent your service area, hours, or availability to a customer searching for you tonight.
The fix takes five minutes: open your Business Profile, go to Edit Profile, click Collected Info if the tab is live for you, and read through what is there. Delete anything wrong. This is exactly the kind of quiet accuracy drift that costs calls without ever throwing an error, which is the same reason we treat NAP consistency for Collingwood trades and Business Profile accuracy as the first step in every audit.
FAQ
Do I need to opt in to this feature? No. If Google has been calling or texting your verified business number to confirm details, the Collected Info tab (once live for your account) shows what came from those interactions automatically. There is nothing to turn on.
Will deleting a collected entry remove it from my whole profile? Deleting an entry removes that specific piece of information from Google’s records, but per Google’s own help doc it does not automatically revert other details already published on your profile. Check your live listing after deleting to confirm the correct information is showing.
What if I do not see the Collected Info tab yet? Google is rolling this out by region and business category, so a missing tab does not mean anything is wrong. Check back periodically, or ask whoever manages your profile to check for you.
